Your destination offers many restaurants that provide international cuisine. However, it is possible to locate reputable restaurants that offer tasty local food.
Typical from Mayrhofen, Zillertaler food is Zillertaler Krapfen, (traditional savory crepes). But also typical for the region is the Tiroler Gröstl. Besides that you can of course also find the typical Austrian specialties such as Kaiserschmarrn, Käsespätzle, Apfelstrudel and of course Wiener schnitzel.
What are tips for restaurants?
Below you will find a selection we have made for you:
- Waldcafe, a cosy restaurant near the forest and next to an ice-skating rink, they also do (cheese) fondue.
- Gasthof Perauer, a bit more pricy but excellent quality, especially know for the meat but they have good vegeterian options as well.
- Berg & Tal, small cosy restaurant with good local food.
- El Torro, tapas and steak restaurant
- Brasserie Q, modern place, small menu but good food, good cocktails and a wine selection
- Goldkind, modern place, plenty of vegetarian options, very nice for breakfast and lunch aswell.
- Butcher Hans (Gasser), opposite from the Penkenbahn is a butcher store where you can get a sandwich with meat. Great snack for after skiing.
