I got robbed

We recommend that you contact your travel insurance. They must be informed of the circumstance and can notify you of what they require in your case. 

• If you were robbed in your hotel, contact the hotel's reception and advise them of the issue, and urge them to alert the police. In most circumstances, a police record is required for insurance purposes.
• If you were robbed outside your hotel, go to the police station nearest to the scene to submit a police report. In most circumstances, a police record is required for insurance purposes. 

Please keep in mind that a police complaint can be expensive, as can hiring a translator. Keep all your receipts. It is up to the insurance company to decide if you get these costs back.
 

Block your bank and/or credit cards.

If you also lost your ID or passport, you must alert the police as you will need it for traveling back home.
