Marsa Alam Town Walks

Route: Explore Marsa Alam town by foot, starting from the city center and wandering through the narrow streets. You can visit local markets, cafés, and shops, and experience the day-to-day life of the town.

Distance: About 2-3 km.

Marsa Alam Beach Walk

Route: A stroll along Marsa Alam’s beaches, particularly near the Marsa Alam Resort area or Abu Dabbab Beach. Many beaches offer a mix of soft sand and rocky outcrops. If you’re in the resort area, it’s easy to access these beaches.

Distance: About 1-2 km along the shore.

Wadi El Gemal National Park Walks

Route: Wadi El Gemal National Park is known for its desert landscapes, unique flora, and fauna, and historical sites. There are short walking trails that can take you through the park, starting from the main road or specific points near the park’s entrance.

Distance: Depending on the route, it could range from 3 to 10 km.

Things to Keep in Mind:

  • Heat: Marsa Alam can be very hot, especially during summer months, so make sure to wear a hat, sunscreen, and carry plenty of water.

  • Distance: Some routes in Marsa Alam are long, so it might be more practical to take a taxi or use other transportation for longer distances (such as Marsa Alam to Port Ghalib).

  • Walking in the Desert: If you plan to explore desert areas like Wadi El Gemal, it’s recommended to go with a local guide for safety and to enhance the experience.
