Beautiful little traditional villages can be discovered throughout the island. To do something like this, a car rental is advised.
Please find below the selection we made for you:
- Cape Drastis, explore the beautiful natural landscapes of Corfu! Take a short walk from where you park your car uphill to enjoy amazing views. While there's a small beach nearby, the stunning beaches you see in pictures can only be reached by boat. Admire the sandy cliffs and untouched coastline from a distance, adding to the charm of this hidden gem. Although getting to these secluded spots requires a boat trip, it's definitely worth the adventure!
- Kassiopi, a delightful fishing village that offers a unique experience. With its charming streets, ancient castle ruins, and welcoming atmosphere, this town is a must-visit. Explore cozy terraces along the waterfront, taste local dishes in restaurants, and admire the atmospheric streets.
- Afionas, a beautiful mountain village on the cape of Arila. The view is breathtaking! If you're in the area, you should definitely stop by here. Park your car amidst the trees and take a leisurely stroll through the village. The cute houses are often decorated with flowers, adding extra charm. From here you can hike to Porto Timoni.
- Kerkyra, is the capital of Corfu. The Old Fortress is one of the main attractions of the city. You can't miss it! Wander through narrow streets to discover charming souvenir stores, cozy cafes, traditional taverns, bakeries, and upscale boutiques.
- Kanoni, here you can watch airplanes descend and land at Corfu Airport. You also have a beautiful view on the monastery of Vlacherna and Pontikonissi (mouse island). You can walk down from here to visit the monastery.
- Pelekas: a traditional village on Corfu. In Pelekas, you'll enjoy a fantastic view over the Ionian Sea (272 meters high), especially at sunset. This viewpoint is called Kaiser’s Throne. The village features the beautiful church of Panagia Odigitria and a museum showcasing traditional Corfiot costumes. You can also visit the Panagia Myrtidiotissa monastery here.
