BrixenCard / Guest Pass
Many visitors get a BrixenCard, which provides free access to public transport in the region.
With it, you can use local and regional buses, regional trains, and some cable cars.
The card must be validated before each journey.

Public Transport Network
The südtirolmobil network covers South Tyrol and includes regional trains, city and regional buses, and some cable cars.
Brixen has a train station on the Brenner line.
Replacement buses operate on some train lines when construction work is underway (e.g., the Pustertal line).

Getting Around Brixen
City buses (bright yellow) connect the town center with nearby areas, hiking trailheads, and surrounding villages.
To reach Mt. Plose, you can take a bus plus a cable car; for BrixenCard holders, one round trip per day is free.

Ticketing & Apps
Tickets are available via the südtirolmobil app.
The Südtirol / Alto Adige Pass is an electronic ticket valid on local transport, but not on long-distance or intercity trains.

Other Transport Options
Certain cable car lines are part of the public transport network and included with the BrixenCard.
There is also a funicular (Mendel / Mendola) and a narrow-gauge railway (Ritten / Renon) included in the transport pass.
