1. Provençal herbs and herb blends

  • Lavender: Var is famous for its lavender fields, especially in the Haut-Var area. Lavender products such as sachets, essential oils, soaps, and candles are typical souvenirs.

  • Herb blends: “Herbes de Provence” (thyme, rosemary, basil, oregano, marjoram) are often sold at local markets or shops.

2. Local gastronomic products

  • Olive oil: Extra virgin olive oil from Var is a popular and authentic souvenir, often available in beautiful bottles with regional labels.

  • Honey and jam: For example, lavender or thyme honey, or jams made from figs, citrus fruits, or mirabelle plums.

  • Truffles and truffle products: Winter is the season for black truffles (especially in Haut-Var). Truffle oil, truffle paste, or dried truffles are delicacies that can be taken home as souvenirs.

3. Wine and liqueurs

  • Côtes de Provence: Rosé wines are characteristic of the region.

  • Pastis or local liqueurs: Some liqueurs are made with local herbs, citrus, or flowers.

4. Handicrafts

  • Ceramics and pottery: Typical Provençal motifs (flowers, lavender fields, olives) on plates, cups, and pots.

  • Textiles: Tablecloths, napkins, or cushions with typical Provençal prints.

  • Sculptures or miniatures of villages and landscapes: Especially in tourist villages such as Bormes-les-Mimosas or Le Lavandou.
