Local markets

Please find below the selection we made for you:

The best markets to visit near Mochlos are in Sitia and Agios Nikolaos, both about 35-40 minutes by car.

Sitia Market (Tuesday morning): A lively weekly market with fresh fruit, vegetables, cheese, olives, honey and local products, ideal if you want authentic Cretan flavours.

Agios Nikolaos Market (Wednesday morning): A larger market combining produce, clothes, crafts and everyday goods; perfect if you want to shop and also enjoy a stroll around the harbour town.

You will also find smaller local village markets (“laiki agora”) across the Lasithi region, where locals sell fresh produce, olive oil, herbs and handmade items, great for a more traditional, low-key experience.

Mochlos itself has a few mini-markets for daily essentials, snacks and basic groceries.
