Santa Bárbara Beach (Ribeira Grande):
The closest large sandy beach to Capelas, Santa Bárbara is renowned for its long stretch of dark volcanic sand and excellent surfing conditions. It’s ideal for a full beach day with swimming, sunbathing, or surf lessons. This is one of São Miguel’s most popular sandy beaches.
