We recommend that you contact your travel insurance. They must be informed of the circumstance and can notify you of what they require in your case.
If you were robbed in your hotel, contact the hotel's reception and advise them of the issue, and urge them to alert the police. In most circumstances, a police record is required for insurance purposes.
If you were robbed outside your hotel, go to the police station nearest to the scene to submit a police report. In most circumstances, a police record is required for insurance purposes.
Please keep in mind that a police complaint can be expensive, as can hiring a translator. Keep all your receipts. It is up to the insurance company to decide if you get these costs back.
Block your bank and/or credit cards.
If you also lost your ID or passport, you must alert the police as you will need it for traveling back home.
If you have a non-Schengen flight, you need to go to the embassy to obtain a temporary travel ID.
