- Lounge on the sandy beach of Calheta: this is one of the few sandy beaches in Madeira and a great place to relax and soak up the sun.  

- Visit the Engenho da Calheta: this historic sugar factory is one of the last on Madeira and offers a fascinating insight into the island's history.  

- Explore the village of Jardim do Mar: this picturesque fishing village is known for its colorful houses and narrow streets.  

- Take a boat tour: Several companies offer boat tours from Calheta, including whale and dolphin watching tours.  

- Hike the surrounding mountains: Calheta is surrounded by rugged mountains that offer great views of the island.  

- Taste the local cuisine: Calheta is home to many restaurants that serve delicious food, including fresh seafood and local specialties like Espetada and Bolo do Caco.
