Beautiful little traditional villages can be discovered throughout the # island / area.# To do something like this, a car rental is advised.

1. Vila Real de Santo António (5 km away)

  • Vila Real de Santo António is a charming town with beautiful architecture and a lovely promenade along the Guadiana River. You can visit the Marquês de Pombal Square, take a walk along the riverfront, and explore the traditional streets and squares. The Ribeira de Cacela park nearby is also perfect for nature lovers.

2. Cacela Velha (10 km away)

  • A picturesque hilltop village with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and traditional white-washed houses. The Cacela Velha Fortress is a great spot to explore, and nearby Praia de Cacela Velha is one of the Algarve's most beautiful beaches.

3. Tavira (25 km away)

  • A stunning beach with a peaceful atmosphere and clear waters. It’s a great place to relax or take part in water sports. The area surrounding the beach has beautiful pine forests, perfect for a scenic walk.

6. Ria Formosa Natural Park (Nearby)

  • A beautiful coastal lagoon and nature reserve with plenty of wildlife, including migratory birds. It’s perfect for a boat tour, walking, or birdwatching.

7. Castro Marim (10 km away)

  • A small town with a rich history, Castro Marim is home to the impressive Castro Marim Castle, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The nearby Salt Pans are interesting to visit as well, where you can learn about the traditional salt production process.

8. Praia da Manta Rota (15 km away)

  • A beautiful, wide beach that is quieter than some of the more popular tourist beaches. It’s ideal for a peaceful day by the sea.
