• Masca

Why go there?

A picturesque village nestled in the heart of the Teno mountains, surrounded by spectacular scenery. Masca is famous for its traditional houses, narrow streets and incredible views of the gorges and ocean.

Local tip: Arrive early to avoid the tourist groups and take time to explore the hiking trails. Also, beware of the road, which can be winding and very busy at certain times of the year, and crossing on a hill or downhill can be uncomfortable. The road, however beautiful it may be, can give the impression of being suspended in space. Something to consider before you set off.

• Garachico

Why go there? A peaceful coastal village with a rich history and well-preserved colonial architecture. The village is also known for its natural pools formed by lava flows.

Local tip: Stroll around the main square and sample local dishes in the family-run restaurants.

• Vilaflor 

Why go there? The highest village on Tenerife, located close to the Teide National Park. It's a perfect place for tranquillity and natural scenery, with plenty of hiking trails. 

Local tip: Try the local wine and Canarian potato dishes, which are very popular in the area.

• Taganana 

Why go there? Located in the Anaga Rural Park, Taganana is a secluded village surrounded by lush green mountains and offering stunning views of the Atlantic. 

Local tip: Try fresh fish in one of the small local restaurants after a stroll along the wild beaches nearby.

• Icod de los Vinos 

Why go here? Known for the famous Drago Milenario, a centuries-old dragon tree. The village also offers local wineries and charming streets to explore. 

Local tip: Taste the local wines, especially Malvasía, and take a walk in the Drago Park.
