Here’s a selection of events in Adeje throughout the year:

  • Adeje Carnival (Carnaval de Adeje)

When: February or March (depending on Easter)

The Adeje Carnival is one of the most popular events in the town, featuring colorful parades, music, dancing, and spectacular costumes. Events and parties are organized throughout the town, attracting both locals and visitors.

 

  • Virgin of la Encarnación Festival (Fiesta de la Virgen de la Encarnación)

When: September (the weekend closest to September 8)

This religious festival honors Adeje’s patron saint, the Virgin of la Encarnación. It’s marked by processions, concerts, traditional dances, and popular festivities.

 

  • Saint John’s Festival (Fiesta de San Juan)

When: Late June

The Saint John’s Festival is a popular celebration on the beaches of Tenerife, including Adeje. People gather around bonfires on the beach to celebrate the arrival of summer and to purify bad spirits. Concerts and other activities are also held by the sea.

 

  • Saint Anthony’s Festival (Fiesta de San Antonio)

When: June

San Antonio is another popular saint in Adeje, and the town holds religious and cultural events in his honor. It’s an opportunity to experience the local culture with processions, concerts, and traditional activities.

 

  • Adeje Music Festival (Festival de Música de Adeje)

When: July

A summer music festival featuring local and international artists. Classical, pop, and other music concerts are organized at various venues in Adeje, creating a festive and international atmosphere.

 

  • Christmas and New Year Celebrations (Navidad y Fin de Año)

When: December – January

Christmas celebrations in Adeje include numerous activities, such as Christmas concerts, markets, and the famous Christmas parade. The New Year festivities feature fireworks and outdoor concerts. 

 

  • Padel Tournament (Torneo de Padel)

When: Summer

Adeje is also known for its top-quality sports facilities, particularly for padel. Several tournaments are held throughout the year, attracting both local and international players. 

 

  • Golf Championship (Campeonato de Golf)

When: Year-round (mainly in winter)

Adeje is home to several world-class golf courses, and numerous tournaments are held throughout the year. The most prestigious is the Torneo de Golf Costa Adeje, which attracts both professional and amateur golfers.

  • Christmas Market (Mercadillo de Navidad)

When: December

A special Christmas market is held in Adeje, featuring stalls with local crafts, Christmas decorations, traditional foods, and unique gifts. 

 

  • Harvest Festival (Fiesta de la Cosecha)

When: September

This festival celebrates the harvest and the agricultural traditions of the region. It’s an opportunity to taste local products, watch folk dances, and participate in events that highlight Tenerife’s agricultural and cultural heritage.

 

  • Valentine’s Day Market (Mercado de San Valentín)

When: February

The Valentine’s Day market is a romantic event with stands, workshops, and activities related to love and St. Valentine’s Day. It’s a great opportunity to buy special gifts for loved ones and celebrate the occasion.
