Bus

You can give the bus driver cash in euros as payment for the bus ride. Ask the driver to call out your stop when you need to get off. 

Tijarafe is connected to other towns on La Palma via local bus lines. The service is reliable but not very frequent, so check the schedule in advance.

Key information:

•    Main routes: Los Llanos – Tijarafe – Puntagorda, and Tijarafe – Santa Cruz de La Palma.

•    Bus stops: In the village centre and near main points like supermarkets and the church.

•    Tickets: Can be purchased on the bus (cash) or via the official TILPASA app.

•    Operating hours: Generally from 07:00 to 19:00; reduced service on Sundays and holidays.

•    Tip: Plan ahead and allow extra time for connections.

Taxi

You can request a taxi from the front desk of your accommodation or restaurant. You may also wait for a taxi at the taxi rank.

Before you get in the taxi, you must inform the driver of your direction. Ask the taxi driver to activate the Taximeter, and when you reach your destination, you pay the amount of the ride which is indicated on the screen. Additionally, you and the taxi driver can agree on an amount to pay before getting in the taxi. You can pay with cash. If you need a receipt, remember to ask the driver if it is possible to get it, before the ride starts.

Taxis are available in Tijarafe and are a convenient way to travel quickly or reach destinations not served by bus.

•    Availability: Taxis can be called by phone, booked via apps, or found at main points in the village.

•    Typical fares: Short trips within Tijarafe cost approximately €5–€10; to Los Llanos or Santa Cruz de La Palma €15–€25.

•    Special services: Luggage assistance and transport for passengers with reduced mobility.

•    Tip: Confirm the price before starting the ride and keep cash handy, as not all taxis accept cards.
