Bus
You can give the bus driver cash in euros as payment for the bus ride. Ask the driver to call out your stop when you need to get off.
Public transport in Son Bou is limited but available via local buses connecting to nearby towns and to Menorca Airport and Mahón (Maó).
- Buses are operated by the island’s public transport network.
- Services are more frequent in the summer season and limited in winter.
- Son Bou is mainly connected to Alaior, Mahón, and Ciutadella (with transfers).
- Timetables may vary, so checking schedules in advance is recommended.
- Bus stops are located within or near the resort area.
Taxi
You can request a taxi from the front desk of your accommodation or restaurant. You may also wait for a taxi at the taxi rank.
Before you get in the taxi, you must inform the driver of your direction. Ask the taxi driver to activate the Taximeter, and when you reach your destination, you pay the amount of the ride which is indicated on the screen. Additionally, you and the taxi driver can agree on an amount to pay before getting in the taxi. You can pay with cash. If you need a receipt, remember to ask the driver if it is possible to get it, before the ride starts.
Taxi services in Son Bou are available but limited compared to larger cities.
- Taxis can be booked by phone or via your accommodation/reception.
- Taxi stands are available in nearby towns such as Alaior and at Menorca Airport.
- Pre-booking is recommended, especially in peak season.

- Son Bou → Airport: approx. 20–30 minutes
- Son Bou → Mahón: approx. 25–35 minutes
- Fares are metered and may include supplements (night, luggage, holidays).
