Typical food from the region is: 

  • Pinzgauer Kasnocken: Small dumplings (like spaetzle) mixed with Pinzgauer cheese varieties
  • Speck & Hauswürstel: Neukirchen has excellent local speck (smoked ham) and air-dried sausages
  • Pinzgauer Bladln: A traditional Pinzgau specialty: thin dough rounds fried until crispy, often served with sauerkraut.
