Typical food from the region is:  

  • Pršut: Dalmatian dry-cured ham, usually served with cheese and olives. 
  • Pašticada: Beef slow-cooked in vinegar, wine, prunes, and spices; typically served with gnocchi. 
  • Black Risotto (Crni rižot): Made with cuttlefish or squid ink, garlic, and olive oil; iconic along the Adriatic coast.
